Craven brought a letter from Gimson.

Japanese will I think do what we tell them. There is a necessity ashore for strong patrols to preserve law and order as armed bands are coming in. There is also a very urgent need for 8000 tons of rice repeat rice. 5000 tons of coal repeat coal and also firewood.
(3) The real obstacle at the moment is the fact that Channels are not swept and our LL Sweepers are ineffective. I intend however, to accept a risk any how with cruisers and below.
